This website was created in appreciation of Opeth, the progressive metal band from Sweden.

They have consistently pushed the boundaries of death metal, progressive music, and have helped develop their own unique sound as well as the metal world as a whole. Their music is technically impressive, atmospheric, emotional, and tells immersive stories unlike any other band can.

This site is more of a blog/fanpage than anything, but it is where I can post my opinions and share information about Opeth and why everyone should listen to them. I’d like to share their origins and history, from their death metal roots to their progressive modern state. Opeth experiments and grows like a person as time goes on, and their music continues to grow with them.

Why is Opeth Special?

Opeth isn’t confined by the constraints or standards of metal, or anything. In an industry where many bands or artists stick to signature sounds or formulas, Opeth is constantly changing and experimenting while still managing to feel like themselves. One album is some of the heaviest death metal, and the next is Damnation. Their songs tell stories, they immerse you in a world that doesn’t even exist. They control the mood, the atmosphere, and every aspect about their music to such an extent that it is incomparable to anything else.

Opeth is both a band, and a journey for the listener to embark on. Both through the band’s history and evolution and through the lyrics of their songs.
