Top 5 Opeth Albums - In Appreciation of Opeth

To preface, this is entirely opinionated, but this is my ranking for the top 5 Opeth albums.

My Rankings

My Arms, Your Hearse (1998)

Their third album that feels a bit more raw than the others. The enchanting vocals and beautiful riffs makes this album very high on the list. I think this is where the solidified their sound.

Ghost Reveries (2005)

This album is one of their best progressive works, having one of the most notable progressive songs of all time, ghost pf perdition. Having complex but unique elements to every song.

Blackwater Park (2001)

This album has some of the heaviest and most notable riffs, while perfectly maching the sound to their album cover. Some of their most well done work.

Still Life (1999)

Their first concept ablum that continuously tells a story throught every song. The story is dark and beautifully written, suiting this album very well.

Damnation (2003)

This album is a testament that opeth has defined their style so much that they dont even need heavy riffs to make an amazing album. Also the reason Opeth was introduced to people outside of the metal scene, broadening their audience.
